Pertama mendengar lagu ini di sebuah radio, tanpa tahu siapa yang menyanyikannya. Alhasil, setelah itu langsung penasaran. Kali kedua mendengar lagu ini, di sebuah pusat perbelanjaan. Akhirnya, semakin membuat penasaran saja, siapa yang menyanyikan, dan apa judulnya. Beberapa hari kemudian, saat menikmati sajian salah satu TV swasta, ada grup musik Tangga yang menyanyikan lagu ini lagi. Akhirnya dari situ bisa tahu bahwa judul lagunya adalah Royals. Mulanya terpikir bahwa yang membawakan asli adalah Tangga. Tapi, ternyata salah. Yang membawakan lagu Royals ini adalah Lorde, penyanyi perempuan asal Selandia Baru, yang punya nama asli Ella Yelich-O’Connor.
